Apprenticeships | Build a career in science from day one

We recruit and train apprentices every year — giving you the hands-on experience, nationally recognised qualifications, and real scientific environment to launch a career that matters.

What an apprenticeship at Fera looks like

Fera apprentices work alongside world-class scientists from day one. You'll contribute to real projects, develop a broad skill set, and be supported at every stage — by your team, your training provider, and the wider organisation. No two days are the same.

Real science from day one

You'll work on live projects in a dynamic research environment, not shadow work or classroom theory.

World-class facilities

From one of the UK's largest mass spectrometry suites to cutting-edge molecular diagnostics, you'll have access to equipment and expertise few apprentices anywhere can match.

Dedicated support

You'll have a line manager, a mentor, and a training provider behind you throughout. We want you to succeed.

A route to a permanent role

Many of our apprentice graduates go on to secure permanent positions at Fera. The apprenticeship is a fast track to greater challenge and responsibility.

Trusted qualifications

We hold ISO 9001 accreditation and train to a high standard. Your qualification carries real weight.

Consider an apprenticeship if you're not sure what you might want to do. University can be a big pressure and an apprenticeship gives you the time and experience to figure out where you're headed
