Phil Rooney

GLP Study Director and manager of environmental fate and behaviour projects.

As a Senior Chemical Fate Scientist, Phil's main responsibility is the delivery and management of GLP environmental risk assessment (ERA) studies including OECD studies. He is also responsible for developing studies on aged sorption, plant uptake factor assessment and cytotoxicity safety assessment.

Phil holds degrees in Biochemistry (BSc) and Applied Bioscience (MSc). Prior to joining Fera, he worked for Aeirtec Pharmaceutical Research and Covance Laboratories Ltd (now Smithers Viscient).

In his free time Phil is an amateur car mechanic, and has absolutely no relation to the well-known Premier League footballer.

Key achievements:

  • In 2013 Phil was accepted onto Fera's leadership development programme (the Fera Academy)
  • Presenting at SETAC, York - Pesticide Behaviour in Soil, Water and Air 2013 and Informa CIR, Barcelona, 2013
