Land Cover

Fera have a long history of analysing and deriving land cover data from aerial and satellite imagery.

The Fera UAV provides us with an additional imagery acquisition tool to rapidly collect very high resolution data over areas such as upland grasslands, moorlands, peatlands and heathlands.

Our fixed-wing UAV is ideally suited to collecting imagery data over large rural environments which can be difficult to traverse on foot. Its aerodynamic design means it is able to fly faster and for longer than rotary UAVs. It is fitted with a twin sensor payload allowing us to capture high resolution (2.5 - 5 cm) multispectral data.

Fera's UAV, GIS and Remote Sensing Specialists have the skills and knowledge to analyse and interpret UAV imagery, allowing us to produce actionable data that can inform land management decisions.
