Smart Spore Trap for Pathogen Detection

Fera offers automated detection of disease risk

In-field detection

Our SMART spore trap carries out Loop-mediated isothermal AMPlification (LAMP) analysis which measures the level of pathogen present in the spore sample. Currently our spore trap can detect three wheat diseases: septoria, brown rust & yellow rust.

We will be using this technology on the CropMonitor network, which in 2017 will operate at 30 locations in England.
